Happy new year to all! This will certainly be a very busy year for me and Brasil Classical.
Daniel Guedes, Hugo Pilger and I will play a trio concert at Carnegie Hall on March 20th.
My 2012 agenda will soon be updated and will include new projects and continuation of old ones!
I am practicing new repertoire and getting ready for rehearsals and concerts.
I would like to share a recent review of my CD http://audaud.com/2012/01/bach-english-suite-no-3-ginastera-sonata-no-1-mehmari-grande-baiao-de-concerto-rachmaninov-sonata-no-2-simone-leitao-piano-msr/

Brasil Classical
We are back at the Knight Hall in Miami for a night of Brazilian Symphonic music. This is my most precious dream: to showcase Brazil in all its diversity and splendour'; to culturally inform the American audience about my country's music heritage and today's thriving scene.
The program which includes Mehmari, Mignone, Prokofiev, Villa-Lobos and Fernandez will also be presented at the Miami Dade Cultural Center.
Miami Symphony is with us again on this endeavour. We have gathered more partners.

My Brazil tour 2011 is over. Its success lies on the fact that in Brazil recital tours are very rare.
I was particularly impressed with the amount of young people interested in piano and concert music across Brazil.
The repertoire chosen was quite comprehensive and the Mehmari piece written for me had a special place in the program.
In every town visited I had a chance to minister masterclasses. This is a very enriching experience, when a touring artist has a chance to actively engage with
the music community present in every town he or she plays! In Rio, it was special: I had a chance to innaugurate a baby grand donated to AfroReggae
music education program at Parada de Lucas, a favela with many pro-active programs to include and restore lifes through music and the arts.

My Brazil tour started a week ago.
In Minas Gerais state were I am from, we had a really special time. Lots of familiar faces.
Brasilia, our capital I had the opportunity to minister masterclasses at the University of Brasilia
one day before the recital. I had the chance to listen to 6 talented young musicians.
Tomorrow is Rio. This town is absolutely unique. The moon is perfect and the temperature is delightful.
This is a new theater in the heart of this city's Botanical garden. The idea is music and nature.
I am really excited!
